American Christmas radio show hosted by Alex Burton. Originally aired in 1983. Great radio show (10 hours on 8 CDs) with lots of holiday music and stories read from articles printed from past issues of the Saturday Evening Post. There are stories on the history of Christmas Trees, Cards and Songs and how they came to be. Also interviews asking kids what they want for Christmas, an asking adults what they remember from Christmases past. Great listening for the holidays and a nice piece of American nostalgia about Christmases past. Most of the artist below appear at least two times on this show.

Some of the artist include….
The Beatles, Elvis Presley, John Denver, Bring Crosby,
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Wayne Newton,   Perry Como,
Andy Williams (6 songs),  Johnny Mathis (9 songs),
Robert Goulet (4 songs), Engelbert Humperdinck,
Will Greer (Grandpa Walton), Bill Cosby, Lou Rawls,
The Carpenters,  Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson (4 songs),
Glen Campbell, The Beach Boys (4 songs), The Lettermen,
The Temptations, Nat King Cole, Barbra Streisand,
Bobby Vinton, Merle Haggard, Roger Whittaker, Emmy Lou Harris,

Seldom, If ever before, has a major radio event created in association with the archives of a major American publication. The Saturday Evening Post, founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1828, is a vast source of Americana. Its pages provide a striking reflection of the United States and its people which has been carefully incorporated into the audio present for you this Christmas season.
